Our Locations
We currently operate across two locations, offering distinct atmospheres and working conditions.
Tarlabaşı — The Campus Building
The first space is a fully restored house located in Tarlabaşı, just a few minutes from Taksim Square and Arter. Since its renovation in 2022, the house has hosted events led by Saye, an international art collective active both on land and at sea. Saye has opened its doors to many bold and independent projects, fostering an environment where experimentation is encouraged, exploration is valued, and transformation is understood as both personal and collective.
Cihangir — The Apartment Studio
The second space is located in Cihangir, within a large shared apartment where Secant Space’s curator also lives. The resident occupies an entire floor, including a private bedroom, studio, and workspace. A spacious terrace overlooking the Bosphorus offers a peaceful setting for reflection, open-air work, or conversations that flow easily with the city’s rhythm.
Although in a lively and central neighborhood, the apartment remains calm — the main sounds around are those of the cats, birds, and even the occasional rooster, mingling with the distant hum of boats crossing the Bosphorus and the Golden Horn.
For any questions or to request additional photos of both spaces, feel free to contact us.

The stay can be planned for periods ranging from 1 week to 3 months, depending on availability. All residents will be given logistical information and details of places to visit, restaurants and other necessities on site.
If required, a specific program can be prepared in advance with the curator. In this case, remote sessions will be necessary and the curator will be able to work on site before the resident's arrival to ensure an efficient stay.
-
Two different options are offered:
- A stay of immersion or inspiration in which the resident does not need curatorial support, networking or guidance in their project. The aim is to find a comfortable and accessible place in the centre of Istanbul that is conducive to reflection and research.
- A stay applied to a specific project that may need support and networking on the ground. Curatorial work will be provided before and during the resident's stay.
This could involve help with:
fundraising
the organisation of specific meetings
thematic suggestions
participation in other projects or exhibitions.
Send us your project and your requirements and we'll get in touch with you for more information.

If you are interested in applying for a residency, we expect a dossier (max. 5 pages) on your project, a portfolio and CV, and details of the option you have chosen (see fees). Don't forget to include your surname, first name and place(s) of residence and work. Send everything to the following email address: contact@secantspace.com
We promise to get back to you as soon as possible.

Open calls for residencies may be organised in collaboration with other venues.
They will be added on a dedicated page of the website as soon as it opens. We will also communicate about them on our social networks.
