ATÖLYE KULLANIMI İÇİN AÇIK ÇAĞRI - İSTANBUL

Secant Space olarak, bağımsız çağdaş sanata alan açma ve sanatçıları üretim süreçlerinde destekleme fikrini merkeze alan yeni bir program başlatıyoruz.

Kuruluşundan bu yana Secant Space, temel rolüne odaklanmaktadır: sanatsal araştırma ve üretimin gelişebilmesi için gerekli entelektüel, maddi ve zamansal koşulları yaratmak. Bu doğrultuda, galeriyi yılın belirli dönemlerinde sanatçılar için bir atölye alanı olarak kullanıma açmak istiyoruz.

Amacımız; sanatçılara şehrin tam kalbinde, düşük bir bütçeyle, araştırma yapabilecekleri, beslenebilecekleri ve üretimlerini sürdürebilecekleri bir alan sunmak. Secant Space’i yalnızca bir sergi mekânı değil, aynı zamanda süreçlere eşlik eden, üretimi destekleyen bir zemin olarak konumlandırıyoruz.

Bu kapsamda, iki ayrı dönem için, her biri bir ay sürecek bir atölye kullanım programı başlatıyoruz:

• 10 Mart – 10 Nisan 

• 25 Temmuz – 25 Ağustos

Program, açık çağrı yoluyla yürütülecektir. Katılmak isteyen sanatçılardan:

• Güncel portfolyolarını

• Secant Space atölyesini neden tercih ettiklerini ve bu sürecin kendi pratikleri açısından ne ifade ettiğini anlatan kısa bir metni 

İlk program için 20 Şubat, ikinci program için 20 Mayıs’a kadar contact@secantspace.com adresine göndermelerini rica ediyoruz.

Bu programla, bağımsız çağdaş sanat üretimine alan açmayı, farklı disiplinlerden sanatçıların üretim süreçlerine eşlik etmeyi ve Secant Space’i yaşayan, dönüşen bir mekân olarak birlikte düşünmeyi amaçlıyoruz.

MEKÂN BILGISI

Secant Space’in atölye olarak kullanıma açılan mekânı, yaklaşık 25 m² büyüklüğündedir. Mekânda bir adet tuvalet bulunmaktadır; tuvalet bugüne kadar yalnızca depolama alanı olarak kullanılmıştır.

Tavan yüksekliği 289 cm’dir.

Aydınlatma, spot ışıklar ile sağlanmaktadır; ışık sayısı ihtiyaca göre artırılıp azaltılabilir. Işık rengi gün ışığı olarak ayarlanmıştır. Ayrıca mekân, vitrinin tamamen cam olması sayesinde gün içerisinde doğal olarak oldukça aydınlıktır.

Mekânın önemli avantajlarından biri, sokak ile doğrudan temas hâlinde olmasıdır. Bu durum, atölye sürecinin aynı zamanda bir açık stüdyo / sergileme niteliği kazanmasını sağlar ve ziyaretçilere açık bir üretim ortamı sunar. Talep edilmesi hâlinde, vitrinin dış mekânla olan ilişkisi tamamen kesilerek daha kapalı bir atölye düzeni de oluşturulabilir.

Open Call for Studio Use - istanbul

At Secant Space, we are launching a new program rooted in our ongoing commitment to supporting independent contemporary art and artists’ production processes.

Since its foundation, Secant Space has focused on its core role: creating the intellectual, material, and temporal conditions necessary for artistic research and production to unfold. In this spirit, we would like to open the gallery as a studio space for artists during specific periods of the year.

Our aim is to offer artists the opportunity to work in the heart of the city, with a low budget, allowing time and room for research, reflection, and production. We see Secant Space not only as an exhibition venue, but also as a space that accompanies artistic processes and supports creation.

Within this framework, we are launching two one-month studio programs during the following periods:

• March 10 – April 10: applications until February 20

• July 25 – August 25: applications until May 20

The program will be carried out through an open call. Artists who wish to apply are kindly invited to send:

• their current portfolio

• a short text explaining why they would like to use the Secant Space studio and what this period would mean for their practice

Through this initiative, we aim to create space for independent contemporary art, accompany diverse artistic practices, and collectively think Secant Space as a living and evolving place.

SPACE INFORMATION

The studio has a total area of approximately 25 m² and includes one restroom, which has so far been used solely as a storage area.

The ceiling height is 289 cm.

Lighting is provided through spotlights, which can be increased or reduced as required. The light temperature is set to daylight. In addition, thanks to the fully glass storefront, the space benefits from abundant natural light throughout the day.

One of the key advantages of the space is its direct connection to the street. This allows the studio period to function simultaneously as an open studio or display space, offering visibility and interaction with passersby. If preferred, the relationship with the exterior can be fully closed off, creating a more private working environment.
